In its bid to explore and develop commercial Green hydrocarbon projects in the country, the government of the republic of Niger has entered in to agreement with a German company Emerging Energy Corporation (EEC) to work together to explore and develop Green hydrocarbon in the country.
The Emerging Energy Corporation also assured the government that it will equally invest in various projects to decarbonise oil field operations and refineries in the country with Carbon Capture technology.
The EEC further stated Green hydrogen will be produced in Niger Republic by electrolysis using renewable power. While the low carbon solution will decarbonise emission intensive industries in the Niger, Africa, Europe and other countries that heavily depend on fossil fuels.
The parties will also work together to ensure that opportunities are created that could help unveil markets for the products thereby establishing the country to be the hub for green hydrogen production in the continent.
According to the statement by the EEC, the production of Green hydrogen in Niger Republic is capable of accelerating industrial decarbonisation and play a crucial role in electrification process obtained from renewable sources.
