From April 22 to 26, 2024, the European Commission will participate in the Hannover Fair, one of the world’s largest industrial fairs, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the European Union’s (EU) industrial competitiveness.
According to an official statement published on the Commission’s website on Tuesday, the Commission’s presence at the fair will span various activities aimed at promoting EU policies and funding opportunities, as well as fostering dialogue with industry stakeholders.
According to the statement, the first day of the fair will feature a High-Level Conference followed by presentations and panel discussions at the on-stand auditorium.
Each day will focus on a different theme, with the agenda tailored to address key topics in industrial development.
Additionally, the EU stand will host a support corner where participants can engage with policy experts and explore interactive screens highlighting industry-related policies and funding opportunities.
A highlight of the second day will be the EU Energy Day, themed “Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy.” The day-long conference, featuring participation from Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Deputy Director-General of DG Energy, will cover a wide range of topics related to energy policy and initiatives.
Sessions will explore key areas such as the European Wind Power Package, European Grids Action Plan, Biomethane, Hydrogen, Solar Energy, and Sustainable Batteries.
Furthermore, a dedicated session on energy efficiency will introduce a new voluntary initiative, the ‘Code of Conduct on Interoperable Energy Smart Appliances’, highlighting its benefits and importance in promoting energy efficiency.
Through these activities, the European Commission aims to showcase the EU’s commitment to driving sustainable and competitive industrial growth while fostering collaboration and innovation within the energy sector.
