Chariot Commences Drilling at Loukos Onshore in Morocco

Chariot Ltd., an energy group focused on Africa’s transitional resources, has announced the start of drilling activities at the Loukos Onshore license in Morocco. Operating with a 75% stake, Chariot partners with ONHYM, holding a 25% interest, and has commenced drilling at the Gaufrette prospect with the spudding of the RZK-1 well.

This drilling campaign marks a significant achievement for Chariot Limited, targeting the Gaufrette Main with Best Estimate recoverable prospective resources of 10 Bcf. The campaign also presents an opportunity to explore a deeper target identified through recently reprocessed 3D seismic data.

Success at Gaufrette could potentially unlock a combined Best Estimate recoverable prospective resource of 26 Bcf, considering other geologically linked prospects in the area. Results from the drilling operations will be disclosed upon completion.

Duncan Wallace, Chariot’s technical director, expressed excitement for the campaign, emphasizing its importance as the company’s inaugural drilling operation of the year. Wallace commended the team’s efforts in initiating drilling within ten months of license acquisition and acknowledged ONHYM for their support and collaboration. Further updates on the drilling results are eagerly awaited.
