Nigerian Govt Slashes Prices in Band A Electricity Tariff

Following a recent review, the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has announced a reduction in the electricity tariff for Band A customers.

Previously, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) mandated customers with a daily supply of a minimum of 20 hours to pay N225 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

However, in the approved tariff review, Band A customers will now pay N206.80 per kWh, effective from May 6, 2024.

“Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh effective May 6, 2024, with guaranteed availability of 20–24 hours of supply daily,” IKEDC announced on Monday.

It’s important to note that the tariffs for Bands B, C, D, and E remain unchanged.
