AROGMA Urges Nigerians Not to Panic Amidst Fuel Price Rumors

In a recent press release, the President of the Arewa Oil and Gas Marketers Association of Nigeria (AROGMA), Bashir Ahmad Danmalam, has affirmed the stance of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that there are no plans to increase fuel prices nationwide.

Danmalam, while speaking to Energy Afrique, disclosed that the affirmation follows a meeting between AROGMA and NNPC management, led by Managing Director Lawal Sade. The NNPC management assured AROGMA of an augmented supply of petroleum products, particularly with the resumption of schools, leading to heightened demand.

Highlighting the impact of the Yuletide season on fuel consumption, Danmalam revealed that NNPC management pledged to increase the allocation of 5 cargoes to oil marketers to facilitate optimal distribution across Nigeria.

During the press release, Danmalam urged the public to exercise patience, especially during the harmattan season, as petroleum products are also in demand in Europe. He emphasized the authenticity of information, cautioning against the spread of fake news on social media regarding fuel price increments. According to Danmalam, only news from AROGMA or NNPC can be considered legitimate.

As the world grapples with high global demand, Danmalam acknowledged the NNPC’s commitment to ensuring timely delivery to consumers. He also acknowledged challenges posed by ongoing conflicts in Asia and Yemen, causing delays in the transportation of petroleum products. Despite these challenges, Danmalam commended the NNPC management for implementing proactive measures.

As the year comes to a close and a new one begins, AROGMA encourages Nigerians to remain calm and reassures them of the continuous efforts by NNPC to meet the nation’s fuel demands amidst global uncertainties
