Six miners lost their lives following a ground collapse at the Bay Horse mine in Chegutu, located 100 kilometers (62 miles) west of the capital, Harare, as reported by state television on Friday, according to Reuters.
ZBC TV confirmed that by Friday night, rescue teams had recovered six bodies from the collapsed mine. Meanwhile, 15 miners still remained trapped underground, sparking urgent and ongoing rescue efforts.
The horrifying event unfolded on Friday when the mine suddenly collapsed, leaving 34 miners trapped beneath the earth. While 13 miners miraculously managed to escape, the fate of 21 others hung in the balance, awaiting the relentless efforts of the rescue teams.
