A Sinopec service unit announced on Thursday that it has signed a 7.956 billion yuan ($1.10 billion) contract to construct natural gas pipelines for Saudi state oil company Aramco, according to a Reuters report.
Sinopec Oilfield Service Co will handle the procurement and construction for the third phase of the Master Gas System in Saudi Arabia.
The company will also build parts of the extensive pipeline grid, which includes trunk lines totaling 2,630 kilometers (1,634.21 miles) and 1,340 kilometers of branch lines.
This project is a significant part of Aramco’s plan to expand gas distribution across the kingdom.
According to Sinopec, the construction is expected to be completed by the end of May 2027.
