Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, has requested Stakeholders in oil and gas and Nigerians to refrain from issuing congratulatory messages on his reappointment, stating that his reappointment was a renewed challenge.
Energy Afrique reports that Kyari’s reappointment was announced in a statement on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Ajuri Ngelale.
In a press statement by the Chief Communication Officer of the state-owned oil firm, Olufemi O. Soneye in Abuja on Wednesday, Kyari also expressed gratitude to them for their enthusiasm regarding his reappointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He, however, promised to remain committed to stabilizing the oil industry and enhancing service delivery for increased revenue.
The statement added that “The GCEO humbly appeals to stakeholders in the oil sector and fellow Nigerians to support the company under his leadership to ensure the success of its mandate.
“Consequently, the GCEO kindly requests all parties concerned to refrain from issuing congratulatory messages on his reappointment. He emphasizes the necessity for all stakeholders’ commitment to drive revenue growth and fortify resilience for the naira and the economy.
