President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has lauded Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for its decision to decrease the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel.
Energy Afrique earlier reported that Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest crude oil refinery, announced a diesel price reduction lowering the rate from N1,200/litre to N1,000/litre. Additionally, the company offered a discount of N30 per litre for purchases exceeding five million litres.

The reduction is expected to have a cascading effect on the prices of goods and services nationwide, potentially alleviating the current surge in prices.
In a statement released by his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu highlighted the federal government’s 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private entities in promoting the overall welfare of the nation.
Ngelale added that the President urged Nigerians and businesses to prioritize national interests, assuring them of a conducive, safe, and secure environment for growth and prosperity.
