Nigeria: PETAN Partners Abia State on Proposed Oil Refinery

The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) has commenced discussions with the Abia State government to assist in establishing a proposed oil refinery in the state.

During the meeting, PETAN Chairman and delegation leader, Wole Ogunsanya, highlighted that this project marks the first instance where the association is engaging in such a program within a state.

“We have a program that aims to support the state government by leveraging the existing resources,” Ogunsanya stated. “We possess the equipment necessary for oil exploration and extraction, which will streamline the process. This refinery, according to Leadership, will also benefit neighboring states.”

In response, the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti expressed his appreciation and assured the delegation of the state government’s full support and cooperation to expedite the project’s completion.

“We are eager to partner with you and take this collaboration very seriously. Thank you for selecting Abia as one of the initial states for this project,” he said.
