Nigeria: Kaduna Electric Allocates N350m to End Power Rationing, Supply Interruptions

Kaduna Electric, a regional power distribution firm in Nigeria, has allocated N350m to upgrade the Millennium City Injection sub-station. This is part of it’s efforts to end power rationing and intermittent supply interruptions in parts of Kaduna metropolis,

Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), revealed this during the delivery of a 7.5MVA transformer for installation at Millennium City.

The investment aims to address load shedding and power rationing affecting over twenty thousand customers in seven communities within and around Millennium City.

The project includes upgrading the injection sub-station’s capacity to 2×7.5MVA and adding a new 11KV line.

Mohammed stated that installation and construction would begin next week, with hopes of commissioning the project promptly.

He urged affected customers to fulfill their payment obligations to support the company’s efforts in improving services.
