The Association of Rural Electrification Contractors of Nigeria (ARECON) has commended the managing director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Mr Salihijo Ahmad, and urged him to continue to do good work to help the downtrodden in society.
Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption, in a letter dated 11th October 2023, summoned the Managing Director of REA, alongside the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund counterpart over an alleged multi-billion-naira fraud allegedly perpetrated under his watch. The House later refuted the invitation.
In a statement signed by the public relations officer of ARECON, Mr Rotimi Raheem and made available to newsmen in Abuja said, “We are delighted to hear the news of a clean bill of health given to the managing director, Rural Electrification Agency by the House of Representatives.
“Recall that in our recent press release a few months ago, we highlighted the giant strides accomplished by the managing director and his management in the improvement of the lives of our rural dwellers.
“He has also connected numerous markets, schools and economic activities to the solar system and mini-grids all over the country.
The association urged him to continue the work he and his team are doing for the benefit of the people in rural areas.
