Algeria and Niger have agreed to revive their energy cooperation, focusing on enhancing operations at the Kafra oil field and advancing the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline project.
The agreement was made during a meeting between Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and Niger’s Minister of Petroleum, Mahaman Moustapha Barké Bako.
Both countries aim to create a joint task force to boost skill development and ensure the effective execution of large-scale energy projects.
With the agreement, Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil company will play a key role in Niger’s energy sector.
